Why can’t I link my debit card?

What to do if adding a debit card isn't working.

Updated over a week ago

Can't add your debit card to your Zilch account? There are a few reasons this can happen.

You're using an invalid type of card

There are some types of cards you can't add to your Zilch account, these include:

  • Corporate cards

  • Credit cards

  • Pre-paid cards

  • Curve and Revolut cards

  • Cards not from UK banks/UK currency

Your address doesn’t match

The billing address on your debit card must match the address on your Zilch account. If you need to change your details, you can do it quickly and easily in the app:

  • Open the Zilch app

  • Go to Personal details

  • Tap edit next to your address

You can only change your address once every three months.

Your name doesn't match

Make sure you're using your own card that shows the same name as your Zilch account. If you're using a card from a joint account, make sure it's your card and not your partner's.

Your bank declined

Your bank may not allow you to add your debit card to Zilch. This isn't something we can control, so please get in touch with your bank directly.

Your card is expired

You can't link an expired card, but cards that are due to expire soon might also be rejected. Your bank should send you a replacement card before your expiry date, so please add your new card to your Zilch account.
