What do I need to sign up to Zilch?

To get spending and saving with Zilch, you’ll need the following:

  • A valid UK debit card

  • A UK-based postal address

  • A mobile phone number

  • An email address

You might also be asked for a photo of a government-issued ID (such as a passport or driving licence) and proof of address. Your proof of address doesn’t need to match your debit card.

Am I eligible for Zilch?

To be eligible to sign up to Zilch, you must be a UK resident and be at least 18 years old.

You might not be able to use Zilch if:

  • You don’t adhere to our terms and conditions during the registration process

  • We’re not able to verify your identity, address or debit card details

  • Our internal credit check tells us you don’t qualify

  • You’re flagged as a politically exposed, special interest or sanctioned individual during the verification process

Does Zilch run a credit check?

We’re a responsible lender, meaning we'll assess your credit limit based on what we think you can comfortably afford to pay back. To make sure we’re getting this right, we’ll run a soft credit check when you sign up. This doesn’t affect your credit score.

Does Zilch report to credit reference agencies?

Yes, we do. That’s why it’s important to keep up to date with your account, as any missed payments will be reported to credit reference agencies, which could affect your credit score.
